Private patent search for product founders
Find what came before. Don't paste your invention into a chatbot.
Is your product idea already patented? Describe it, and your browser searches 29.6 million patent publications through a sealed machine it has checked first. You get the closest earlier patents and a record anyone can verify.
The problem
The moment you paste an unfiled idea into a chatbot, it is someone else's copy.
A general-purpose chatbot is a third party under consumer terms, not a party to your NDA. You have to describe the invention to search for it. Anteriora is built so that the privacy is testable: your browser checks the machine before a word leaves, and you get a record a stranger can verify.
How it works
Check first. Encrypt second. Search third.
- 1
Describe it
Write what your invention does, in your own words. Nothing is sent yet.
- 2
Your browser checks the machine
It verifies the sealed machine's hardware attestation against our signed reference. If anything fails, nothing is sent.
- 3
Sealed search, signed answer
Your text is encrypted to that machine, searched against 29.6 million patent publications, and the answer comes back signed and bound to your query.
The proof, and its edges
A privacy promise you can't test is marketing.
Most tools tell you to trust them. Anteriora hands you the receipts, and tells you exactly what a receipt can and cannot show. That honesty is the point: it is what makes the rest believable.
What the checks establish
- The machine is real confidential hardware, with a firmware version at or above our floor.
- Its software identity equals the one we signed offline, and a record shows when each identity was current.
- Your text was encrypted to that machine's key, bound to the session.
- Every result is signed by the machine and bound to your query's hash.
- A third party can re-run all of it, offline, without asking us.
What no check can show, and we say so
- That nothing was kept. Hardware attestation cannot prove a negative.
- In the browser version, which page your browser actually ran. You rely on the published page. Its hash is published and its build is reproducible, so anyone can check what it does.We publish its hash and make the build reproducible before it goes live.
- That timing and message size are hidden. They are not.
- That a search is complete. It is a first pass, not a clearance.
Every record states what the hardware does not prove. We would rather lose a sale to an honest sentence than win it with a false one.
Want a stronger position than the browser page? Download the single-file version once, check its hash, and open it from your disk. After that your trust rests on that file, not on what our site serves later.
Where it runs
In your browser. Deeper in the app.
In your browser
Nothing to install. Safari, Chrome and Firefox. Same sealed search, same verifiable record.
The Mac app
The same search plus an AI assistant that reads your documents and helps you write notes. It does not change what the search finds, and it is not legal advice. Apple-silicon Macs; macOS asks you to approve it once.
The record
Results you can hand to anyone.
Every search ends with a folder you keep. Open it in any browser. Give it to your attorney, your co-founder or an investor, and they can verify it themselves, without trusting you and without trusting us.
- Readable results, with office, date and title for each
- The signed evidence from the machine
- A checker that exits clean only if every check passes
Coverage
What it searches, stated plainly.
Included
- Titles and abstracts, US from 1971, EP and WO from 1978
- A frozen index: no surprise changes between your searches
Not included
- Scientific papers, open-source code and other non-patent literature
- Other offices (CN, JP, KR, DE) and French national patents
- Full text. Trademarks are not available today.
If you build software, the earlier work that matters is often an open-source project or a paper. We search patents only, and we tell you so up front.
Who it is for
Built for people who make physical things.
Product founders and inventors
Hardware, consumer devices, medtech, materials. Find out what exists before you file, launch, pitch or hire an attorney, and arrive with a record.
Also: patent attorneys and IP teams
A private first pass to brief a matter, with a record your client or a colleague can verify. A working aid, not an opinion.
Early access
Be among the first to search privately.
Leave your email. We write once, when Anteriora opens. The price, and exactly what each search includes, will be on this page before you can order.
Plain answers
Questions.
Does Anteriora see my invention?
Your text is encrypted in your browser to a sealed search machine, and our servers relay only encrypted data. The machine uses confidential-computing hardware, which is designed to keep its contents from the people who run it. That design has limits: the hardware check cannot prove that nothing was kept. The page lists what it checked and what it cannot show.
Is this legal advice?
No. It is a search tool. It gives you results and a record, not an opinion on patentability or freedom to operate. A patent attorney can give you that, and a good search helps you brief one.
What exactly is the record?
A folder you download: a page you can read in any browser, the results, the signed evidence and a checker script. A third party can run the checker and confirm the results came from a machine matching our signed reference. It confirms the record is genuine; it does not confirm that your text was protected.
How long does a search take?
The search itself took a median of about 9 seconds as users saw it, and 22 seconds or less in 9 of 10 cases. The sealed machine handles one search at a time, so you may wait in a short queue. Starting it from cold takes about 13 minutes, so the first search after a long quiet period can be slow.
Will it find everything?
No. It searches the patent publications listed above, by title and abstract, and the index stops at April 2026. It is a first pass and gives no guarantee that nothing similar exists.
Which computers does the app support?
The browser version works in current Safari, Chrome and Firefox. The app is for Apple-silicon Macs. There is no Windows app today.
Can I check my company name or logo?
Not today. Trademark search is not available.
